These are the stories of a girl's life while growing up in a small town called Red Bank.
As they say it takes a village to raise a child
And this is my village.
I grew up in a small town called Red Bank. In a time where kids ran in and out of each other's house's, drank up all the Kool-Aid, ate up all the snacks, used the bathroom and the phone with no problems. A time when your friends were white, black, Hispanic or whatever and nobody cared. Where every parent was your parent, you were home when the street lights came on and dinner was always at six o'clock. A time when kids never disrespected our elder's or put their mouth's in grown folk's conversation's unless asked. A time when the cops were your friends and would give kids rides around town in their squad cars with the sirens blaring, a much easier and simpler time.
Even though the names of people and locations have been changed for privacy, these are those stories. Stories of a time forgotten.
