THE MORTAL TEST is about exploring the heart and soul of humanity and attempts to define what it means to be human. Building one’s character is a major theme as well as how man experiences the natural world. In these poems, I strive to venture through the pain of being human while also sending a final message of hope. My dream is that by reading it, a person may find inner strength to battle through this gauntlet we call life and carry on despite the odds or what other might say.

RYAN M. DIXON was born in Princeton, New Jersey, and is the eldest of two brothers. He has been married to his wife, Greta, for nine years and has two children. Ryan was a EMT for four years up until 2015 when he left the medical fi eld to become a supervisor with the US Postal Service. He has a passion for weight lifting and poetry and has a love of writing clearly expressed through his poems.
